"I'm Not Eating That!"
I am The Food Snob. With all the ridiculous television shows on the Food Network, Travel Channel, Tru TV, History Channel, A&E and so on, I am thinking seriously about starting my own ridiculous (but informative!) show about food. I am calling it "I’m Not Eating That."
A Lightbulb Idea
This idea came to me while watching Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern eat their way through every vile and sickening food on the planet. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching both of them and have learned exactly what I will and will not eat. I am such a picky eater, and even talked about that on a Rick Steve’s radio call-in show a few years ago.
When I travel, I try to eat sensible foods that are local, yet try not to be crazy about eating things I would never want to have on my tongue. I don’t even eat chicken for God’s sake. So when traveling, it's a good idea to think about these things when making your plans.
Picky Eaters, Unite!
I want to help others like me, who are far less adventurous, find a happy medium and still enjoy the local culture. I enjoy educating people who are just as apprehensive as I am, but want to try new foods (within reason that is!). I like things just the way they are. I suppose I should be a size zero given everything I don't eat, but trust me when I say there is enough variety that keeps the meat just where it belongs – on my ass.
I am interested in your opinions on whether you all think my own "I'm Not Eating That" would be a good idea. I, of course, think it’s hilarious, but at the same time, think it can be extremely helpful to those travelers who are exactly like me. I know you’re out there too. I want to be able to talk about what you can substitute in situations where you are uncomfortable with what’s been placed in front of you. This is key to families with allergies or special dietary needs.
Please tell me your thoughts and if you have any suggestions, I welcome them as I would a beautiful plate of fresh pasta, sans the slime. We can talk about your dietary needs, preferences, and I can even offer suggestions of some of my favorite restaurants! Call me to discuss your ideas at 770-740-9099 or email me email@example.com.
